Paris Motor Show - World Premier - Fiat 500X

Fiat has built the world's newest family member of the 500th series, the Global Premier - the 500x compact crossover SUV.The 500 range includes 500 hatchback, 500L and 500 life MPV models.The 500x compact crossover SUV will be produced at the manufacturer's updated SATA plant in Melfi, Italy.In the second half of 2015, the vehicle is set for sale and will be available in more than 100 countries around the world.

Up front, the 500X looks like a reinforced 500 hatch, called its crossover DNA.The dashboard is a similar 500 field, with a snazzy overall layout.Fiat offers the U-Connect touchscreen infotainment system with head unit connectivity.Also, the AC shutters are awkwardly lowered on the center console.

Fial and diesel engines offer 500 times.On the petrol front, the 500x features a 1.4L turbocharged Multiair II 140HP engine mated to a 6-speed MT in an FWD layout.Talking about the diesel, the 500x gets the 1.6L multi-jet II, which produces the same 120hp as the same 6-speed MT in a FWD layout.

There's also a 140HP 2.0L multi-jet II electric motor, and things get spicy now as this engine gets Fiat's first 9-speed automatic transmission with 4-wheel drive.All of these engines will be available at launch, and later Fiat will add a 170HP 1.4L Turbo Multiair II petrol, AWD and a 9-speed to the 110HP 1.6L E-Torq and 184HP Tigershark 2.4L motor.The Fiat 500 comes with a "drive mode selector" with three modes, Auto, Sport and All-Weather.
