Maruti Suzuki SX4 Cross spotted; launching early next year

The Maruti Suzuki SX4 was recently released for spot testing in the NCR area near the company's manufacturing facility.The SX4-based crossover has been captured many times online, and it looks like the Maruti is some India-centric touch compared to its European model.The SX4 cross showed off the CIAZ concept at the 2014 Auto Expo.Adding to it, it looks like Maruti is hitting the market with a slew of releases and updates, starting with Celerio, CIAZ, Swift Compelift and Alto K10 and Swift Dzire also expected soon.Our Cardekho user Sahib Singh sent the spy shots.

According to the spy shots talking about the replacement in India, the vehicle could receive minor design changes like a different set of alloys (not the European version's machining), and the roof track appears to be retained.Inside, the interior is set to remain the same as shown at the Expo, with the 7-inch Smart Human touchscreen infotainment system expected to be seen at the CIAZ.It will also adjust the grille slightly.

In the European market, the SX4 Cross comes with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines, but Maruti will have Maruti bring this motor to India.The expected engines are similar to the CIAZ sedan - a 1.3-litre DDIS 200 turbo diesel (88.8bhp, 200nm) and a 1.4-litre K-series Vvt naturally aspirated petrol motor (91bhp and 130nm).Speaking of transmission, the petrol will likely offer a 5-speed manual along with the expected automatic, while the diesel gets a 6-speed manual unit.Like its European sibling, this car is expected to get Suzuki's Allgip (all-wheel drive) technology.
