Maruti Swift Facelift pre-orders open; release in a few weeks

Maruti Suzuki has started a swift facelift through all of the company's 1370 dealers across the country.India's top-selling premium hatch is getting an increasingly elusive facelift, with a launch expected later this month or early November.There are no radical changes inside and out, but it will likely gain engine tuning and fuel efficiency.Is fuel economy better than CIAZ?No confirmation yet.

From the outside, the front bumper has been subtly changed and is now more dazzling, while the fog of now more foggy "L" day running LEDs (like the European version) somehow replaces the Chrome Appliqué .There are new alloy sleeves, which are the only visible changes to the back side profile, while the rear profile is not inserted.Inside, the Swift reportedly adjusts the driver's seat height adjustment, engine Stat-Stop button, power foldable wing mirrors in all variants.

Mechanically, SWIFT will retain its powertrain, but may receive tweaks for better efficiency.Powered by a 1.2L K12 petrol motor with 85.8bhp and 114nm in the ongoing model SWIFT.The diesel will be the 1.3L Fiat's MJD as the DDIS, with a fixed geometry turbo clipping out 74bhp and 190nm.Both diesel and petrol PS are expected to receive a slight bump.Also, the current engine is both mated to a 5-speed unit, but the overall swift could offer an automatic in a petrol version similar to the Dzire.
