Beijing (Gasgoo)-China’s new energy vehicle startup Leapmotor, who is currently in the hearing phase of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, managed to refresh its monthly delivery record in May.
In the fifth month of 2022, Leapmotor delivered 10,069 vehicles, representing a 10.8% increase from April, and also 10 vehicles higher than its previous record set in March. Compared to the same month in 2021, Leapmotor managed to more than triple its deliveries with a 215.15% hike.
The startup noted that May marked the 14th month for it to achieve an over 200% year-over-year surge.
In the first five months of this year, the cumulative delivery volume of the startup summed up to 40,735 vehicles, whereas a year ago, Leapmotor had delivered 9,104 vehicles in the same time span.
On May 10th, Leapmotor kicked off the presale of its premium model, the C01, further expressing the company’s determination to penetrate the mid-to-high-end EV market in China. Specifically, the company aims to introduce one to three models every year, covering compact and full-sized sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, forming a fleet of eight new models by 2025.
Furthermore, the Zhejiang-based EV startup also has its eyes on the worldwide market. In accordance to its plans, Leapmotor will open its first overseas flagship store in Europe by 2023.
