Allegro Acquires Isolated Gate Driver Supplier Heyday

Gasgoo, May 31, 2019 - Allegro MicroSystems (Allegro), a supplier of sensing and power semiconductor solutions for motion control and energy-saving systems, announced the acquisition of Heyday Integrated Circuits (Heyday).Privately held Heyday is focused on developing compact, fully integrated isolated gate drivers that enable energy conversion in high voltage Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor designs.

The acquisition of Heyday will complement Allegro's existing energy efficiency solutions, including its leading current sensor solutions.In addition, the acquisition will significantly expand Allegro's markets inelectric vehicles(xEV), solar inverters, data center and 5G power, and a wide range of industrial applications.
