WeRide SS 5.0 consists of twelve cameras and seven solid-state LiDARs, forming six perception modules skillfully placed onto different parts of the vehicle. It provides strong perception support while maintaining the original design of the vehicle as much as possible.
There are three solid-state LiDARs, five mid-range cameras, and two long-range cameras on the top of the car, replacing the previous hat-like form of the suite. The spoiler is installed with one solid-state LiDAR and one mid-range camera, hidden in the vehicle profile, assisting the perception module on the roof of the car. The other four LiDARs can cover the blind spots around the car, complementing to the fisheye cameras.
WeRide SS 5.0 has a lower computing power threshold, as it can run smoothly on platforms with 250-500TOPS of computing power. Comparing to the last generation, WeRide SS 5.0 is lighter and smaller. Its top perception module features 66% shorter the height, 15% lesser the thickness, and 17% lighter the weight than the previous-generation autonomous driving suite.
