Gasgoo, according to foreign media reports, as the escalating situation in Russia and Ukraine interrupted the supply of automotive wiring harnesses, Skoda is producing wiring harnesses at its headquarters in the Czech Republic.
Some European plants at Skoda, other Volkswagen Group brands, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Ford have suspended production since the escalation in Russia and Ukraine forced Ukrainian parts plants to cut production.Skoda suspended production of the all-electric SUV Enyaq for eight weeks starting March 3 due to a shortage of wiring harnesses caused by supply bottlenecks.
Currently, Škoda assembles the wiring harnesses for the Fabia small station wagon at the Mlada Boleslav plant in Czech Republic.Skoda said in a statement that wiring harness production for Octavia, Kodiaq, Karoq and Suberb models will begin in the coming weeks.
Czech cable harness manufacturer PEKM Kabeltechnik built the necessary production equipment in an assembly hall provided by Skoda.Thirty-five female workers at PEKM Kabeltechnik's Lviv plant in Ukraine assemble wire harnesses in this assembly hall, while training new employees.

Skoda has also received additional wiring harness productionfrom German company Kromberg & Schubert's Kenitra plant in Morocco.In addition, Kromberg & Schubert has now increased the production of wire harnesses at its plant in Zhytomyr, Ukraine.
Karsten Schnake, Skoda's board member responsible for procurement, said in a statement: "We have been working closely with our partners over the past few weeks to minimise the impact of the escalation in the Russian-Ukrainian situation on the supply of wiring harnesses. Production in Ukraine was resumed in a short period of time, andproduction capacity.” Schnake also said, “We have the highest respect for our Ukrainian partners who continue to supply us.”
Skoda also plans to replicate the production of high-voltage cables needed to chargeelectric vehiclesand will start production in Romania from the end of June.
