Lucid Air OTA software update fails, rendering the vehicle temporarily undriveable

According to foreign media reports, Lucid Air owner Alex revealed on the Lucid Owners Forum that Lucid will begin rolling out OTA software update version 1.2.6 on June 10, 2022.After initiating the update and waiting three or four hours, Alex received a warning message that the update failed and the vehicle may not be drivable.

Alex pointed out that the above situation caused his Lucid electric car to fail completely.He couldn't open the door, and the OTA update never seemed to be downloaded.His vehicle shows the OTA progress bar is always 0%.Additionally, Alex had to go through the trunk to get inside the car and open the doors.

Alex contacted Lucid Customer Care, Lucid Customer Care, to alert the Lucid team that something was wrong with the OTA update, but Lucid was unable to help immediately.About an hour later, Alex's vehicle was back to normal.The Lucid Air's alarm went off and the vehicle key successfully stopped the alarm and opened the door, Teslarati reported.However, the error message still appears on the vehicle's screen.

Alex got in the car and checked the "drive and reverse" function, which seemed to work.Lucid officials called to explain that another software update will be attempted.However, this update also failed.Lucid informs Alex that his mobility technician will contact him and make an appointment to inspect the car.

The problem eventually resolved itself.After two failed OTA software update attempts, Alex's vehicle appeared to be back to normal in the morning after an overnight charge.While there is still a warning message in the vehicle's mobile app, it doesn't appear on the onboard screen.
