Volkswagen suspends ID production due to battery quality issues. Buzz

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle, part of the Volkswagen Group, has suspended production of the ID. Buzz in Hanover, Germany, according to foreign media reports.

On June 2 this year, Volkswagen had just started production of the ID. Buzz, and German media reported that Volkswagen had encountered battery-related problems.It is reported that the company noticed a quality problem with ID. Buzz’s batteries, and some cells/modules from new suppliers had problems, causing production to be stopped for a week.According to unofficial information, the performance of these batteries is not up to the target, and there are problems such as voltage drop, which affects the range of the vehicle.

Buzz is the only VW model to use batteries from an undisclosed new supplier, the report said.Other models based on the MEB platform should have no problem since they carry batteries from other manufacturers."Cells from the new supplier are currently only used for ID.
