A 1952 classic Jaguar goes electrified with interior made from ocean-recycled plastic for the first time

Gasgoo News Lunaz, the world's leading company, is dedicated to upcycling, restoring classic cars andelectrifyingvehicles .According to foreign media reports, the company recently announced a very special customer commission: a 1952 Jaguar XK120.

This classic Jaguar has been converted into an electric vehicle and features a leather-free interior made from ocean-cleaning materials, a world first for a project of its kind.These include carpets woven from recycled nylon fishing nets, whose backings are upcycled from marine plastic pollutants such as plastic bottles.

The process of recycling waste materials from the ocean has been successfully used in fashion, boutique furniture manufacturing and high-end watch manufacturing.The in-house design department, headed by Lunaz Design Director Jen Holloway, works to personalize each Lumaz component.

The design team communicated closely with the client to fully understand their aesthetic and personal sensibilities.During the commissioning and specification process, the customer visited Lunaz in person to learn about the performance of leather alternatives and innovative upcycled materials from a visual and comfort standpoint.

The resulting interior features an innovative combination of textiles, traditional woods and upcycled materials.For example, the seat frame is constructed from recycled aluminum.Decorative veneer in North American Burr Walnut, with a satin finish, gives the vehicle interior a contemporary aesthetic.Designers meticulously restore 70-year-old vehicle materials to minimize the need for new materials.

Lunaz's team of engineers has skillfully integrated the latest infotainment and audio technology into the vehicle, including installing a screen with Apple CarPlay that allows customers to operate their favorite navigation and music streaming software.
