GM's high-end import business settled in Pudong

On June 30, General Motors and Shanghai Pudong New Area signed a project investment intention agreement, announcing that it plans to increase its capital by US$100 million to build a new high-end import business.

Julian Blissett, President of General Motors China, said: "General Motors is confident in the long-term development of Pudong, Shanghai and the Chinese market. This investment will help us seize new opportunities in the era of high-quality development and bring benefits to Chinese consumers. More diverse and richer products and services.”

Twenty-five years ago, GM established its first joint venture in Pudong - SAIC-GM and Pan-Asian Automotive Technology Center.Over the years, starting from Pudong, the company has deeply cultivated the Chinese market. Not only has it established strong local strength in the fields of vehicle design, engineering, manufacturing and R&D, it has also built a strong product and brand lineup covering almost all market segments.

The high-end import business with this investment will introduce star products of various brands of General Motors through an innovative business model.These models will cover full-size SUVs, full-size pickups and supercars, further broadening and enhancing the existing product spectrum and satisfying Chinese consumers' pursuit of personalized and high-quality lifestyles.
