As a new comer in the auto industry, Leapmotor’s first mass production vehicle, the S01, rolled off the production line on June 28th 2019. Exactly three years from the day, its 100,000th vehicles, a C11 performance, came off the production line. Leapmotor said that it only took the company half a year to produce the second 50,000 vehicles.

Since its establishment in 2015, Leapmotor has been determined to develop its own core technologies, especially proprietary battery pack, electric control BMS, and electric drive technologies. The startup believes that the way it chooses can help strengthen its competitiveness while protect the company against swaying external circumstances.

For example, under the various challenges the auto industry faced in April, Leapmotor managed to sustain a monthly sales growth of over 200% from a year ago, outselling NIO, Xpeng, and other top new energy vehicle startups in China.

As the company previously disclosed, it plans to debut 2-3 new models per year in the five following years. The new models will range from sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, with both battery-electric and extended-range power options. Leapmotor set a cumulative sales target of 800,000 vehicles by the year of 2025.
