Genesis unveils first official images of Genesis G80 Sport

In early July,Genesisreleased the first official images of theGenesisG80 Sport, but didn't reveal any specs for the model.The company updated its website today with the first mention of the G80 Sport with a "coming soon" message.

What sets the G80 Sport apart from the standard sedan is innovation in the exterior and interior.Outside, there's an aggressive aerodynamic body kit that includes original front and rear bumpers, as well as a spoiler on the boot lid.There are also low-profile tires with specially designed discs that increase to 20 inches in diameter.An exclusive body colour, Cavendish Red (a rich metallic red), will also be available.

The interior features a three-spoke sports steering wheel, unique seats and door card trim.Dashboard trim is available in three different finishes, including an exclusive Sport version of the mix of real aluminium, real carbon and diamond weave that debuted on the G80 Sport.Customers can also choose from exclusive new G80 Sport quilted seats in either a diamond pattern or a V pattern.

There is no information on the technical components of the model yet.A full reveal of the all-newGenesisG80 Sport will take place in a few weeks.

As a reminder, the second-generation standard Genesis G80 (code RG3) went into production in April 2020.This business-class sedan is available with rear- or all-wheel drive.The car is available with a 2.5-liter or 3.5-liter gasoline engine or a 2.2-liter diesel engine.The first engine had 304 HP, the second - 375 HP, the third - 207 HP.The April 2021 "pure electric car" version is different, with two electric motors (one for each axle) for a combined output of 272 kW (370 hp).
