Rolls-Royce plans to release exclusive cars every two years

The British luxury automaker said it hopes to release a new body model similar to the Boat Tail every two years.

The stern is the result of four years of work.The company intends to produce just three of the models, each priced at about $28 million, which, if true, would make it the most expensive car in the world.Rolls-RoyceCEO Thorsten Müller-Plumb recently said that if there is demand for new body types, the company will build them.

"Boat Tail is a customer-specific one-off product that's been incredibly popular," Mueller-Otves said in a recent interview.“We’ve had a lot of inquiries from clients about whether they’d be selected for the next [program] Coachbuild. We did that four years ago while strengthening the department. The idea is to do a program every two years. Whether it's three cars or one machine, a lot depends on what the customer thinks, and our desire to do it."

Müller-Otves said all of Coachbuild's customers are long -termRolls-Roycecustomers and play an important role in vehicle design and development.

"They are both long-termRolls-Roycecustomers who know the Rolls-Royce brand very well and have the patience to accompany us on our four-year journey," he said."They spent a lot of time talking to designers and engineers and talking about it."

Implementation of the Coachbuild program benefits from the automaker's luxury ethos architecture, which allows for different body sizes.Although the Rolls-Royce stern is based on the Phantom engine and chassis, it is made up of nearly 2,000 unique parts.
