Genesis sold half a million cars

Since entering the market in November 2015,Genesishas sold more than 500,000 cumulative units worldwide.Among them, as of early May 2021, 379,000 vehicles were sold in the Korean auto market and 121,200 vehicles were sold in other countries.

As a reminder, the first Genesis model, the EQ900 (G90), was launched in November 2015 and allowed it to enter the competitive global luxury sedan market.Within two months of the event, 530 Genesis vehicles were sold in 2015.In 2016, Genesis sales rose to 65,586 units, while between 2017 and 2019 the brand averaged more than 80,000 units a year.

In 2020, Genesis' total sales were 128,365 units, up 46% year over year.These achievements were aided by the market launch of the Genesis GV80, the first Genesis crossover that helped overcome the 100,000-vehicle annual sales figure worldwide.

If we talk about the various segments, the best-selling Genesis model is the G80 sedan, which sold 256,056 units in circulation and showed the largest quantitative growth in sales.Additionally, the GV80 Cross emerged as the second most popular model with annual global sales reaching 38,069 units in 2020 and 18,442 units in 2021.

The debut of theGV80- the first cross in Genesis history - took place last year, and in December 2020, the brand's second SUV, the GV70, was launched, expanding the product range and increasing Genesis's presence in the automotive market Rate..The electric G80 was announced in April this year and will join the Genesis lineup in 2021.Based on its proprietary design philosophy, Genesis has launched five concept cars, including the Genesis X, which debuted in March this year.

Outside South Korea, the top-selling market is one of the most competitive premium car markets.Since entering the market in 2016, Genesis has sold a total of 97,869 units.This effectively means hitting the mark of 100,000 cars sold.

Genesis vehicles are currently on display in Canada, the Middle East, Russia and Australia.The brand has announced that it will start sales this year in China and Europe - the premium automaker's main market.
