A ToyotaSupra sports coupe fromthe first two films in the popular Fast and Furious movie franchise has fetched a record $550,000 at auction at Barrett-Jackson.
The 1994 car was used to film the original 2001 Fast and Furious and the 2003 Fast and Furious Twins. The coupe was driven by actor Paul Walker, who died in 2013.
Notably, this isn't the same car that sold for $185,000 in 2015.Released in 1993, the coupe was powered by a 220-horsepower naturally aspirated 3.0-liter 2JZ-GE engine.Comes with a five-speed "mechanical".The existence of two apparently identical coupes is easy to explain: several copies were made for the shoot.
The 1994ToyotaSupra used a 3.0-liter inline-six 2JZ-GTE that produced 324 horsepower.and 427 Nm.A fun fact: Although the sports car has a four-speed automatic transmission, the mode selector is disguised as a mechanical lever for the sake of filming.
The car features 19-inch Racing Hart M5 wheels, a massive rear wing on the boot lid, a three-spoke racing steering wheel, blue buckets and an additional set of sensors on the dashboard and roof pillars.
ThisToyotaSuprais one of the most iconic cars in movie history.
