New Volkswagen Polo GTI spotted in testing

Volkswagenlaunched an updated Polo a few months ago, and it's available on all trim levels except the high-end model.But a few weeks later, the company announced the release of the highest-performing GTI, promising an official premiere by the end of June.

It's almost the end of the month, which means it's about to debut, but on the eve of this event, a camouflaged prototype was photographed in the serial fuselage.Volkswagenhas traditionally used camouflage on body colors, which should be misleading.The masks applied to the headlights and taillights also give the impression that we're looking at the currentVolkswagenPoloGTI, when it's actually an updated hot hatch.

The main feature of the redesign is the GTI badge in the center of the tailgate, just below the VW logo.The new Golf GTI Mk8 has a similar look.

As for whether anything has changed behind the scenes, a company representative will let us know soon.The previousPoloGTI initially came with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 197 hp and 320 Nm of torque.It was initially only offered with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission before a 6-speed manual version was introduced.Over time, however, the three-pedal modification was discontinued.
