Changan Uni-K to get new hybrid technology

The Changanbrand has announced that a hybrid variant of the brand's flagship crossover, the Uni-K, will be unveiled in China later this year.It will use a new hybrid technology called Blue Core iDD.

The Blue Core iDD (Intelligent Dual Drive) system is a hybrid technology based on two electric motors: electric and a standard combustion engine.Its basis is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a working volume of 1.5 liters, which produces 177 horsepower.and 260 Nm of torque.Exact power figures for the electric motor have yet to be announced, but during the presentation,Changannoted that the unit could have a total torque of 590 Nm.The battery capacity reaches 30.7 kW.The electric tractor using a similar battery has a range of 130 km (NEDC).

It is worth noting that the fuel consumption of the hybridChanganUni-K will be within 1 liter per 100 kilometers.The total cruising range of the Uni family flagship equipped with blue core iDD technology will reach 1,000 kilometers.Although the release of this modification is only planned for the end of 2021, it's already appearing on the web.Changan's flagship crossover will have minimal exterior changes.Of these, only the charger connector distinguishes, and the exhaust system, which has become less aggressive than the standard model.

Let us recall the main parameters of the Changan Uni-K crossover: the body size is 4856x1948x1700 mm and the wheelbase is 2890 mm.The front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive modified cars have ground clearance of 173mm and 182mm respectively.Currently, the Changan flagship is equipped with only one engine: the 2.0-liter JL486ZQ5 with 233 horsepower.and 390 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed "automatic".
