A global chip shortage forced Nissan and Suzuki to temporarily halt production at some plants in June, people familiar with the matter told Reuters on Friday.
Nissan will idle its plants in southern Kyushu for three days on June 24, 25 and 28, while making adjustments to production at its Chiki and Oha plants this month, three sources said.
Nissan will also temporarily halt production of some models at its Mexican plant, they said, declining to say because the plan has not been made public.
