Tesla's German factory only produces black and white Model Y, delivering only 4,000 vehicles in the first quarter

Germany's "Automobile Weekly" reported on July 11 that Tesla's German factory has been in operation for more than three months and has only delivered a total of 4,000 cars. Currently, only black and white Model Y is produced.

According to people familiar with the matter, the factory will stop production for two weeks in July, workers will take summer vacation, the factory will be rectified and optimized, and the assembly time of the assembly line will be accelerated from the current 90 seconds to 45 seconds.

It is reported that Tesla’s German factory has encountered various production technical problems since its production on March 22, especially the painting department, resulting in the factory only producing white and black Model Y.

European consumers ordering the red, blue and silver Model Y will have to wait for the product made at Tesla's Shanghai factory, which is not expected to arrive until March 2023.

The white and black Model Y currently produced at Tesla's German plant could be delivered in October, people familiar with the matter said.

Tesla delivered a total of 253,695new cars in the second quarter,mostly from the Shanghai plant.Analysts said Tesla's German plant and the Austin plant in the United States are expected to produce a total of 6,000 vehicles.

Tesla's German plant is producing about 350 vehicles per week, and is expected to produce 4,200 vehicles in the second quarter.
